Now that you are connected to Google Search Console (GSC), we can now set up your Monitoring and Indexing settings with URL Monitor.

Follow these quick steps below to get up and running in less than 5 minutes.

  1. After you have enabled your site in your dashboard, click into DETAILS. This dashboard is your site's main data center for monitoring and indexing done by URL Monitor.

  2. (Best Practice): We recommend familiarizing yourself with this dashboard, as there are a lot of valuable data points attached! KPIs on indexing, Reporting, Weekly Summaries, Indexing Settings, Page & Performance Health, and more. See our best practices for more information.

  3. After the initial inspection job is done on your site post enabling, the software will show you an updated table in which it points out which URLs need indexing. You can kick this off by clicking either manually submitting the URLs in the table below OR by selecting Auto-Index and selecting your settings.

  4. Manual vs Auto-indexing setting. This really is a personal preference that you'd like to establish from the start. We recommend our 7 day auto-indexing of ALL PAGES, but we understand that customers have didn't levels of priority for indexing. To start manually indexing, you can filter the data table of all your URLs and click one by one to then send to be indexed.

  5. To enable Auto-Indexing, click the Auto-Indexing dropdown and select either ALL Pages (which is not checked + not indexed) OR Not Indexed.

  6. Review Your Job Summaries. This highlights all of the weekly jobs done in your account. This is a super helpful data point for understanding how our indexing features work. As you might have guessed, we run a lot of API jobs!

  7. Review Your Email Notification Settings. These notifications go out weekly. You can enable or disable them depending on your preferences.

  8. Review Your Page Health. This is a source of very valuable data the individual URL level. Here you can understand any technical issues that might be happening to your URLs and potentially why they might not be indexed.

  9. Review Your Performance Summary (in your Page Health). Learn more about your performance score, SEO audits, Accessibility and best practices.

Note: Google recommends that you use the Indexing API ONLY for Job Posting and Live Streaming websites. However, it works on any type of website and many of our users have seen great results already. Please proceed with caution.
